I’m doing a little thing over the next few weeks getting ready for the gift giving season…. I’m calling it “Gifts in Jars”…. It is going to be lots of my secret recipes & tips on how to make AMAZING gifts in jars! Be sure to follow me to see them all. Most of these recipes will be super easy & really cost effective. I’m starting out this thing in true Lemon Dropper fashion…. I’m a bit of a nut for Lemons… Always have been & always will be! I juice them all the time, clean with them & I even grow them. Here is a SUPER SIMPLE preserved lemon recipe that will just make a great little gift!
Preserved Lemons… Salty Air & Glitter Syle
Organic lemons cut in small wedges. Place them in a glass jar with a layer of sea salt on each layer of lemons. Really pack them in. Be sure that there is enough juice to cover the lemons. You may need to juice another lemon or two to submerge all the lemons. Sit on the counter for about 2-3 weeks… Then refrigerate.
I use mine in my fresh made hummus & all sorts of dressings. You will be able to eat the rind & everything. The salt creates a brine & helps to ferment the lemons & preserve them. It is a great way to make a probiotic addition to any meal.
I would tie a little raffia & a cute little lemon charm on the top & probably stick a twig of Rosemary for a nice little presentation & a splash of green🌱🌱🍋
Love & Lemons, Celeste
